How this website and this clinic aim to work for everyone, what standard we hold ourselves to, and how to tell us when we fall short.
Our commitment
The standard we build to.
This website is designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1, at Level AA. That is a step beyond the WCAG 2.0 Level AA required of us under Ontario's Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, made under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
What that means in practice
- Text and background colours are checked for contrast in both the light and dark versions of every page
- Every part of the site can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator
- Images carry text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Nothing moves, flashes or advances automatically for anyone who has asked their device to reduce motion
- Interactive targets are large enough to use accurately on a touchscreen
- Page structure uses real headings and landmarks rather than styled text
In the clinic
- Ground floor premises with level access from the car park
- Free parking directly outside the entrance
- Interpretation in more than fifty languages, arranged by us at no cost to you
- Sign language interpretation can be arranged in advance. Ask when you book.
- Documents in another format on request. Ask reception.
